West Yorkshire Police, formerly the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police, is responsible for policing the metropolitan county of West Yorkshire, England.
In 1974 part of the West Yorkshire Constabulary was amalgamated with the Leeds City Police and Bradford City Police to form West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police.
In 1986 it was re-named West Yorkshire Police as we know it today.
