The National Police Academy/National Police School is the main training institution for the National Police.
Its mission is to educate, train and improve police personnel at all hierarchical levels.
The institution offers basic training courses for aspiring officers, as well as training, updating and professional development programs for active police personnel.
It also offers technical and undergraduate degrees in areas such as public security, criminology, police investigation and operational management, in coordination with the National Directorate of Police Education.
Officially founded on 26 May 1943 with the unification of the police education system through a decree that gave life to the Instituto de Enseñanza Profesional (Vocational Education Institute).
In 1971 the center adopted the formal name of Escuela Nacional de Policía (National Police School).
