The Hellenic Police (Ελληνική Αστυνομία, Ellinikí Astynomía, ΕΛ.ΑΣ.) is the national police service and one of the three security forces of Greece.
The Hellenic Police assumed its present structure in 1984 when the Gendarmerie (Chorofylaki) and the Urban Police Forces (Astynomia Poleon) were merged.
