Since 1906, the Saanich Police Department (SPD) has used the Municipal Seal followed by the District Coat of Arms, as the official symbol of our organization.
In 2020 a redesign of the crest was proposed to better reflect the commitment to the community they serve.
The vision was to showcase the police's values-based approach to community policing, and to honour the lək’wəŋən and WSÁNEĆ Peoples, whose traditional territories extend throughout the District of Saanich.
The new crest was approved in 2024.
