Stadtpolizei Zürich as a municipal police corps, is responsible for the municipal area of the city of Zurich.
Zurich City Police (Stapo Zurich) is the third largest police force in Switzerland after the Zurich Cantonal Police and the Bern Cantonal Police.
Under the co-management of the cantonal police forces of Zurich and Bern, twelve cantonal police forces, several municipal police forces and the SBB transport police have worked out the cross-corps renewal of work uniforms. Launched in February 2015, the large-scale project was successfully completed at the end of March 2019.
