Chernobyl Liquidator Medal (CLM) awarded to members of the Soviet Union (civilian and military personnel) for participation in cleanup activities after the reactor accident on 26 April 1986.
The drop of blood symbolizes the loss of life, and the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma rays refer to and represent the massive amount of radiation involved. Gilt and ribbon suspension bears logo of Moscow Mint. This award was issued to all participants of the massive clean-up effort.
