This Scottish infantry regiment was formed in 1959 by merging The Highland Light Infantry with The Royal Scots Fusiliers.
It continued in British Army service until 2006, when it was merged into The Royal Regiment of Scotland.
The badge of this regiment consists of a flaming grenade (inherited from The Royal Scots Fusiliers) and the 'HLI' monograph (inherited from The Highland Light Infantry (City of Glasgow Regiment)).
