The Royal Corps of Transport (RCT) was a British Army Corps established to manage all matters in relation to the transport of men and material for the Army and the wider Defence community.
This unit was established in 1965 by merging the Transportation and Movement Control Service of the Corps of Royal Engineers (RE) and the transport functions of the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC).
In 1993, the Royal Corps of Transport was merged with several other corps to form the Royal Logistic Corps.
The badge is in the form of an eight-pointed, rayed star, the topmost point of which is displaced by a monarchial crown. Mounted upon the centre is a laurel wreath within which is the garter bearing the gilt Order of the Garter's motto, 'Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense' (Shame on him who thinks evil of it). Within the voided centre the pierced gilt royal cypher for Queen Elizabeth II, 'EIIR'. Below the Garter a frosted scroll bearing the burnished Corps title, 'Royal Corps of Transport'.
