The torch rays represent the spirit of the police force, to serve, guide and provide information for Indonesian citizens.
The 17 torch rays with 8 flame tongues and 4 bars at top and 5 bars at bottom of pillar (45) depicts the date, 17 August 1945, the day of Independence.
Rice and cotton stalks represent the national aspiration, guiding the state to make its people prosperous.
The 29 cotton leaves with 9 pistils and 45 grains of rice are a statement on the date of the inauguration of the first National Police on 29 September 1945.
